Commercial Services drives organizational impact by strategically
growing government and commercial contracts, expanding service
offerings, and increasing revenue. This role oversees contract
execution, compliance, and budget management while ensuring the
successful renewal and expansion of key contracts. The Senior
Director develops and executes business strategies to penetrate new
markets, collaborates across departments to achieve operational
excellence, and strengthens relationships with public and private
sector partners. Additionally, this role enhances Goodwill Southern
California's public image, fosters community relations, and
champions the placement of individuals with disabilities, all while
maintaining high standards of service delivery and compliance.
- Strategically grow government and commercial contracts by
identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships with
decision-makers in public and private sectors, and expanding
Goodwill's service footprint to increase organizational impact and
revenue.
- Develop a robust pipeline of multi-year contract opportunities
by monitoring market trends, responding to RFPs, and negotiating
competitive contract pricing. Lead business planning efforts to
ensure sustainable growth, cost efficiency, and exceptional service
delivery.
- Oversee the execution and performance of custodial and building
service contracts, ensuring key deliverables are met and operations
consistently exceed client expectations.
- Collaborate with agencies such as AbilityOne, SourceAmerica,
CARF, and local government officials to meet program requirements,
maintain compliance, and secure contract renewals that drive
long-term growth.
- Lead workforce planning efforts to meet Federal AbilityOne
staffing requirements by proactively recruiting and training
individuals with disabilities. Partner with WCD, Disability
Services, and LOA to secure necessary documentation and ensure
sustained compliance with workforce ratios.
- Drive a culture of compliance by managing OSHA, AbilityOne, and
other regulatory requirements. Ensure supervisory staff are
thoroughly trained on program mandates and that frontline teams
adhere to operational policies and Wage & Hour regulations at
Federal, State, and Local levels.
- Partner with Finance to analyze contract performance and
sustainability through regular reporting on key metrics, ensuring
the alignment of operational goals with financial targets.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments-including WCD,
Finance, HR, and Operations-to design and implement strategies that
deliver measurable results and operational excellence.
- Enhance Goodwill Southern California's reputation by engaging
with public and private stakeholders, participating in community
activities, and building relationships among government and
business partners.
- Serve as the primary representative for Government and
Commercial Services community initiatives, promoting Goodwill's
mission and its ability to deliver lasting impact.
- Foster partnerships with neighboring Goodwill organizations to
promote the hiring and placement of individuals with disabilities,
ensuring consistent outcomes across communities.
- Actively represent Goodwill in external forums, such as
industry events, public meetings, and networking opportunities, to
position the organization as a trusted partner in the government
and commercial sectors.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for Valley Campus
community activities that enhance the company's image and
reputation.
- Local travel is required (50%). A valid California driver's
license and state-required insurance are necessary. The driving
record must meet the company's insurance vendor
requirements.Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
required.
- 5 years of managerial and supervisory experience with public or
private contracts.
- 10 years of experience managing employees in janitorial,
landscaping, mailroom, or facilities.
- Experience working with people with disabilities and other
populations facing barriers to employment; ADA knowledge
required.
- 7-10 years of community outreach and non-profit administration
experience preferred.
- Must have intermediate knowledge of computer programs in a
Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and E-mail.
- Possesses a valid California driver's license and
state-required auto insurance.
- Ability to gain security clearance for Government sites and
bases.
- Required to travel to Goodwill Southern California locations
weekly (50% of the time).
- Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Background Check, Live Scan, and
