Our battery packs are used to power industrial and commercial equipment like forklifts and airport ground support equipment, as well as new applications like solar-powered EV charging stations.About the RoleResponsible for the management and coordination of all shop operations to include assembly, toolroom, maintenance, and constant improvement of throughput in Production. To assist in planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, and on-time per plan.What you Will be DoingPlan, organize and direct all manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return in productivityCreate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capitalAssure monthly quality objectives are met while assuring product standards will meet or exceed our customers' expectationsImprove manpower utilization within existing departments and processes (cross-train personnel)Responsible for supervising and motivating workforce with team buildingResponsible for reviewing the performance of subordinates & identifying training needsAssist and oversee the production schedule after receiving the monthly planning; implement the daily production plan and adjust the schedule where needed to meet month-end goals and on-time deliveryEnforce existing ISO quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives & ensure complete compliance to prescribed QMS and ISO StandardsDetermine and implement improvements to the Production processPrepare and maintain minimal Production reports (Excel, PowerPoint)Ensure the communication of and adherence to company policies and proceduresEnsure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, shipping, quality, and planningDevelop strategies to improve overall shop performanceRecruit, interview and assess the skill level of potential new employeesHire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievancesOther duties as assignedWhat you Will NeedBachelor's degree - business administration, management, engineering, or minimum 10 years in manufacturing managementAA Degree and/or Certificate of Electronics a plusUnderstanding of Lean principals (e.g. problem solving, 5S, Continuous Improvement) principalsAbility to support multiple programs at once based on business needsAbility to read and work to engineering documentationAbility to operate general use test equipment and Special Test Equipment with trainingAttention to detail and good verbal / written communications skills a mustRecommended intermediate computer skills including applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet browsers, and product specific or OEM equipment utilities and applicationsMust have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and quickly changing work environmentHighly motivated to learn new technology and processesFocus on quality.Physical Conditions/RequirementsJob frequently requires walking, standing, and handling objects in a production manufacturing environmentExposure to manufacturing environmentJob may require kneeling, stooping, forward bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and or electronicallyHearing requirement: Ability to tolerate loud noises from various manufacturing machinesOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
