HR Payroll Administrator

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a HR Payroll Administrator in Vista, CA. Essential Functions:

  • HR Payroll Administrator will administer weekly payroll, prepare, and reconcile reports, wage garnishments, and distribute paychecks
  • Administer safety, health and welfare plans as well as the retirement plan
  • Conduct new hire orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits, retirement plan, and company policies and procedures. Interface with employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so they can make informed decisions on benefits
  • Reconcile monthly billings from insurance providers; Review billings for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with carriers and/or payroll vendor and forward for approval
  • Resolve employee concerns related to safety, health, and welfare plans
  • Assist with open enrollment and process benefit election changes in HRIS System within deadlines while ensuring accuracy
  • Coordinate and organize various training sessions as necessary
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for all non-exempt personnel and temporary employees; This includes writing and placing job advertisements
  • As a HR Payroll Administrator, you will assist with preparing and processing final paperwork for terminations
  • Assist with 401k and I-9 audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
  • Maintain employee directory
  • Serve as lead member on safety committee board and coordinate semi-annual meetings with safety committee members; Interface with VP of HR, safety consultant and the facility staff to help resolve any safety concerns
  • Assist VP of HR with various projects and/or special projects
  • Coordinate with HR Supervisor at the Facility to review and route personnel requisitions for approval Job Requirements:REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must have High School diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 2 - 4 years in human resources and/or payroll
    • General understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations as it pertains to employment laws
    • Must be proficient with MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook); PowerPoint helpful
    • Bilingual in Spanish with the ability to read, write and speak Spanish helpful, but not required
    • Interpersonal skills - Due to the exposure of sensitive information, must maintain the highest level of confidentiality; Must exhibit patience, tolerance and customer service focused
    • Problem solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully
    • Oral communication - Will need to speak clearly in positive or negative situations
    • Written communication - The individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, read and interpret written information
    • Planning/Organizing - The individual will need to plan, organize, and prioritize work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans; Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced department
    • Adaptability - The individual will need to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
    • Dependability - The individual is consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, responds to management's direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance
