Title: Facilities Worker

Status: Full-Time / $14.00 per hour

Supervisor: Facilities Manager

Subordinates: None

Under supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Worker will assist in the maintenance and repairs for the establishment of the Pala Band of Mission Indians facilities and land and will perform related work as required.


Provides daily maintenance of the Pala Band of Mission Indians facilities buildings and surrounding land. Responsible for custodial and maintenance supplies and performs weekly inventory of supplies for department usage. Performs inside/outside services as needed which includes but not limited to: light plumbing, repair and maintenance of building and equipment, dry wall repair, tile installation, and repair, landscaping, painting, garbage pick-up and moving office equipment, furniture, etc. Assists in the construction and maintenance of the access roads. Performs building set-up for tribal functions when requested. Performs other related duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.


Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools and equipments used in the building and mechanical trades. Knowledge of the operation and care of equipment, tools, and supplies related to the care of buildings and materials. Ability to maintain appropriate records and reports. Experience with handling all types of landscaping equipment and driving tractors a plus.


High School graduate or equivalent education (GED) or related fields. Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing during employment. Must be able to pass background check. Indian preference will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members.


All employees are expected to follow the Tribal Employee Handbook of the Pala Band of Mission Indians and must adhere to any additional applicable addendums.
