Salary: $12.00 hr. / Part-time
Status: M-F, Afternoons (hours may vary)
Supervisor: Pala Youth Club Director
Under the direct supervision of the PYC Director, the Cook will
be assigned the duties for preparation, purchases, stores, and
serves food in accordance with the meal requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete and maintain required food reports, such as meal census
taken daily; record number of meals served, and documents food
program. Ensures that shopping is completed appropriately.
Preparation and provision of snacks and meals, purchase food within
budgetary and meal requirements, plans or adjusts to meet meal
requirements. Documents refrigerators/freezer temperatures daily.
Rotate and store food supplies Clean and inspect kitchen equipment,
kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and
functional operation. Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other
cooking equipment. Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen area.
Assists staff members in carrying out daily activities. Performs
other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of proper use and maintenance equipment in the work
area. Ability to interpret food service requirements. Ability to
interpret food service safety regulations. Ability to
problem-solve, be self-motivated, and be organized. Ability to pass
an annual physical and TB test.
High School Diploma or Equivalent plus two years of previous
work experience in food services. Current CPR certification, Food
Handling card, and First Aid card preferred. Must have a valid
California Driver's License. Must be able to pass a security
background check. Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a
Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of
employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Indian preference
will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring
preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal
