Job Description:
Overview:Counselor positions are a great career opportunity for
those with skills, experience, and/or education in the Social
Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice), or Special
Education fields. These positions are also an opportunity for those
individuals interested in caring for youth (at-risk adolescent
males, ages 10-17) to develop or expand their skills in supporting
our residential, community or school-based program. FT shifts vary
(see below). Note there may also be on-call opportunities open for
those unavailable for FT work.Our positions offer a competitive

options, including a 403B).Duties:Counselors supervise and work
with youth. Priorities and duties include ensuring a safe and
positive environment for change. Counselors teach, coach, counsel,
serve as role models, and respond to crises/emergencies using
positive interventions, effective professional relationships and
therapeutic / behavioral skills. Staff also administer medications,
track and report behaviors via computer, oversee and assist with
maintaining agency/licensing living standards, and assist with
physical interventions when difficult behaviors require. Our staff
may work on our main campus or in residential homes within the
community.Shifts:Shifts vary (see below). On-call staff may also
support special situations when additional needs. All shifts have
two-hour trainings on Wednesdays at noon (twice per month), except
for school shifts when required, scheduled trainings follow their
workday.Shift 1 - 40 hours/week:School Shift (80%), 20% in homes or
off-school hours.Monday - Friday, 7:15 am - 3:15 pm (5 shifts)Shift
2 - 38 hours/week:Awake Overnight - 4 Shifts (Monday -
Thursday)Sunday (Monday early am) - Thursday (Wed. night), 12:30 am
- 9:30 amShift 3 - 34.5 hours/week:Awake Overnight- 3 Shifts.
Thursday night - Saturday night11:00 pm TH - 10:00 am Friday11:00

38 hours/week:FM Shift. Sunday - Wednesday, 4 ShiftsSunday 7 am - 3
pm,M-W 2:30 pm to 12:30 am*Shift hours may change or vary slightly
depending on location. Reasonable notification provided.Skills
Required:Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Experience in the field a
plus (and required for senior position). Ability to engage with
youth, apply sound judgment, be positive and deescalate aggressive
behaviors. Ability to be on time, follow instructions, and use
sound judgment. Must be able to drive and to speak/understand
English. Must have basic computer skills to access emails and to
learn company tracking systems. Candidates must clear background
fingerprint checks, pass physical assessments (including functional
abilities and drug screening), and demonstrate a driving record
acceptable to our insurer (staff drive youth in company vehicles).
